Walk In Your Purpose

Every Issue You Avoid Creates a War Inside of You

I was invited to speak/motivate some young Sailors about not being afraid to "Eat Alone".

After the event, a young mas asked me, "Master Chief, how do you deal with trauma that happened before the Navy?" As I looked at this young man, I noticed his spirit, aurora, vibe was truly heavy. His soul was burdened. He eyes were dark. Tired. Skin dry, rough. Without knowing anything about his story, I answered, "Stop blaming yourself because it was not your fault. You had nothing to do with it." I told him I could feel his heaviness and he needs to talk to a counselor because what he is holding onto is holding him back in his life and weighing him down to the point he is not focusing on him.

He was not rested. He was barely functioning.

His eyes started watering. He told me he was having a hard time getting an appointment. I recommended while he works on getting an appointment, to write a letter to his best friend telling him how he misses him, how he feels about the situation that happened, all the good things that he has achieved since his best friend died by suicide after killing three innocent victims.

This young man has been carry this burden for 3 years. Never talked about it. He was 16 when his best friend decided to take 3 lives and then kill himself.

What you continuously hold in, will ultimately destroy you. It will create a battle within you that you will never be able to fight alone. It's okay to ask for help. It's okay to seek a "pressure relief valve" to slowly start letting it out and begin healing from your trauma. Your peace is not going to happen over night, but I promise it will happen.
